Origins

The SSOSCC is a coalition of various groups within the community that was formed following a widely and well attended public meeting held in October 2016 that supported action to prevent La Trobe University’s redevelopment of the public open space area known as Strathallan.  This area consists of public reserve and the Strathallan Golf course and abuts with the existing Gresswell Habitat Link.

 

The land is currently zoned as Public Park and Recreation.

 

Foundation members of the coalition include residents from the surrounding residential areas of Gresswell Grange, Springthorpe and Greenwood estates, members of the Strathallan Golf Club, members from the local Wildlife and Conservation groups and other concerned persons.
