Our "Save" Objectives

In its charter of incorporation the SSOSCC stated purpose is “to promote the protection and preservation of the land (Part Lot B on Plan of Subdivision PS328980H, Certificate of Title Volume 10232 Folio 736) referred as the Strathallan Open Space, in accordance with the land’s current zoning and usage.  They being: Public Park and Recreation zoning, environmental reserve, native wildlife habitat and community recreational facility consisting of a public golf course and walking path usage.”

The land was once part of the Larundel and Mont Park Mental Hospital s complex.  On the northern boundary it abuts with the Greenwood Estate, the eastern boundary extends to the Gresswell Habitat Link, the southern boundary includes part of the Habitat Link, Springthorpe Estate and the Wildlife Sanctuary Gresswell lakes and the western boundary is formed by the Gresswell Grange Estate.
